Your break in detail
The idea is simple: a great week of golf in a beautiful setting with some relaxed, practical coaching along the way, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the holiday itself.
I am very clear about one thing: you are still on holiday. These are not intensive training camps and there is no expectation that you spend every spare hour working on your swing. The coaching is designed to complement the trip. It may involve a range session before a round, some short game work or a conversation about course management; possibly a small swing adjustment or a few words while walking between shots.
Sometimes the most useful piece of coaching is simply having an experienced PGA Professional beside you when a question occurs. Why does that shot keep going right? Why am I struggling from this lie? Should I really be hitting driver here? Why does my golf disappear after one bad hole? Those are the conversations I enjoy. The aim is not to give you more to think about; it is usually to give you less.

Your host

Simon Buckley
PGA Golf Professional and your host
Simon is a PGA Golf Professional and the host of every SB Golf Coaching trip. With more than 40 years' experience in professional golf, he brings a calm, practical approach to coaching and helps golfers understand what will make the biggest difference to their game.
Throughout each trip, Simon leads coaching sessions on the range and out on the course, focusing on areas such as ball striking, short game, course management and confidence. His aim is not to overload golfers with technical information, but to offer clear, useful advice that can be put into practice straight away.

Good to know
Coaching schedule
Coaching runs from 9.30 to 11.00 in group and individual formats, followed by golf from approximately 12.30 to 1.00pm, which leaves time for lunch. The planned coaching days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, tailored to the group and individual needs.
Flights
Flights are not included. Ideally we will travel on the same flights to help keep transfer costs down, so please get in touch before booking.
Bringing a non-golfer?
Partners and friends who don't play golf are very welcome. There's absolutely no expectation to play golf or spend your time at the golf club; golfers and non-golfers enjoy the same holiday without needing the same plans each day. We'll enjoy the occasional meal or evening out together, with plenty of time for everyone to do their own thing.
Away from the course, Corfu Old Town is around 30 minutes by bus or car, with its history, shops, cafés and waterfront. Or simply relax at the hotel, enjoy a leisurely Greek lunch, or hire your own car to explore the island.
The non-golfer package includes return airport transfers, shared hire cars on five days (fuel included) and the €35 per person per night room tax. Double or twin £397.00 per person; single £591.79.

Where you'll stay
We will be staying at the Philoxenia Hotel in Ermones, only a mile from Corfu Golf Club, with free transfers between the hotel and the course whenever required. Having stayed at the Philoxenia this year, I'm very happy to return. The hotel was welcoming and accommodating and offered excellent value for money. I looked into the five-star all-inclusive Grand Mediterraneo too, but it cost at least three times as much and transfers to the golf club were not included. The Philoxenia gives a much better balance between comfort, golf and overall cost.

The courses you'll play
Corfu Golf Club
A superbly designed course in beautiful surroundings, and very easy to walk, although buggies are available if you prefer. The club has had significant investment this year, which is ongoing.
